All over America, there is a growing movement to recognize the experiences and achievements of our African American elders. The Legacy Initiative encourages community groups, students, and churches to join this important effort by recording your own interviews with the extraordinary elders in your community. You can then register your interviews in the National Registry of African American Oral Histories, our unprecedented, accessible, online database.
This registry serves as a searchable catalogue of all oral histories collected by individuals using the Legacy Guide, as well as previously completed interviews of African American elders.
